Music & Witchcraft

September 18 @ 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm

Witchcraft and Music

The Magic of Sound, Rhythm, and Intention

Music has always been more than entertainment. Across cultures and throughout history, people have used song, rhythm, chanting, drumming, melody, and sound as tools for ritual, spiritual connection, healing, trance, celebration, and transformation.

Witchcraft & Music explores the relationship between magical practice and the power of sound, looking at how witches and practitioners can intentionally incorporate music into their spiritual and ritual work.

In this course, we’ll explore how rhythm can alter consciousness, repetition can create focus, lyrics can carry intention, and sound can help shape the atmosphere and energy of a working. We’ll look at everything from traditional chants and ritual songs to modern music and the ways practitioners can create their own magical soundscapes.

We’ll explore topics such as:

The History of Music in Magic — How different cultures and traditions have incorporated music, chanting, and rhythm into spiritual practices.

The Power of Rhythm — Exploring repetition, drumming, percussion, and rhythmic patterns as tools for focus, trance, movement, and ritual.

Chanting & Sacred Song — Understanding repetition, vocalization, mantras, chants, and the intentional use of the voice.

The Magical Voice — Exploring spoken word, incantations, toning, breath, volume, and vocal intention.

Music & Ritual — Choosing or creating music to support different types of magical workings, from protection and cleansing to manifestation, divination, healing, and celebration.

Music & Altered States — Examining how rhythm, repetition, sound, and focused attention can contribute to meditative and trance-like experiences.

Building a Magical Soundscape — Learning how to intentionally combine music, ambient sounds, silence, rhythm, and atmosphere to create a ritual environment.

Writing Magical Songs & Chants — Exploring how words, rhythm, repetition, symbolism, and intention can be brought together to create your own ritual music.

Modern Witchcraft & Music — Looking at how contemporary practitioners use playlists, recorded music, instruments, and technology within their magical practices.

At the heart of this course is a simple idea:

Sound carries intention.

A drumbeat can ground us.
A melody can stir memory.
A chant can focus the mind.
A voice can give power to a word.
And sometimes, a single song can completely change the energy of a space.

Witchcraft & Music invites you to listen differently — to explore music not simply as something you hear, but as something you can feel, create, direct, and incorporate into your own magical practice.

Cancellations are accepted 48 hours in advance.
